Description
Family cemetery memorial of sculptor S. Kazantsev at Anosinsky cemetery «Don't feel sorrow for us…».

On June 12, 2006, at the age of 85, Mikhail V. Marnachev, a veteran of the second world war, father of the sculptor’s wife, died. When there was a question about the place of burial, relatives initially considered the cemetery in Pavlovskaya Sloboda, where Mikhail's brother Ivan was buried. But the plot was very small, and it was impossible to drive up to it. Therefore, the Mikhail’s closest relatives bought a new large plot near the road to the cemetery in the village of Anosino. Ivan’s grave was moved to Anosino and Mikhail Vasilyevich Marnachev was buried there also.

It so happened that the site is bordered with burial of the mother of a known businessman V.O. Potanin. In 2006, Patriarch Alexy II came to consecrate a chapel located on the burial grounds of V.Potanin’s mother. Also in this ceremony participated V.O. Potanin, head of the Istra district of A.N. Shcherba, rector of the women's Anosino-Borisoglebsky monastery, Archimandrite Spiridon.

The work on the creation of the tombstone was not supported by money, on the enthusiasm of the sculptor, so it lasted 4 years. Installation work was carried out on May 18, 2010 by the sculptor himself, his son-in-law Alexander Veselov and daughter Elena.
