Description

The marble composition "Crucifixion" on a granite calvary (height 350 cm) was made at the request of Archpriest Konstantin Volkov, the head of the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in the Darna village. The work was donated by the sculptor to the temple and installed in 2011 at the grave of Archpriest Georgy Tobalov (1945-2008). Parishioners remember Father George as a very bright and welcoming person. 1992 to 2002 he was the Dean of the Istra region. The father was active in educational work, restored churches, published newspapers, wrote art canvases, recorded records of religious chants, he led more than 30 people to the priesthood. Before his death, the priest asked everyone: "Pray for me, I will pray for you there."
